As far as historical aircraft, I've always had a place in my heart for the B 17 and the men who served flying and crewing it. I flew the T-38 for several years then KC-135s (ex Air Force)

Comment by Elden Williams on September 6, 2012 at 7:24pm: Elden Williams USAF Retired. P-51 aka F-6 was my combat plane in Europe but my answer would be Bell p-39. I did a lot of test work at various times and learned a lot the average fighter jock didn't know such as nose high cross control turns just barely above stall to win dog fights. It saved me when 3 ft of left wing was rendered inop after mid-air with a towed target that has been shot off. Loved the servo trim tabs. Hated the later mods (smaller gas tanks, small air intakes leading edge of wings - you learn how to taxi at 60mph plus). Had a chance to buy one with 7:30 hours after the war for $700. Had to choose P-39 or family. Came home with BT-13.

Have about 1000 hrs military that includes all models except D. All models of F100. Another 12-1500 hrs. civilian A/c. Owned an Executive Aircraft Leasing Service at one time and one of the the A/c in my inventory was a plushed out, king size bed, bar, etc. Baker25. The only reason I mention this is next to the Saber, that you did not get into but you PUT ON!!!!, I loved flying that BAKER 25. Go figure??????????
