"B-25J built early in 1944. I flew it to airshows in 1992 and 93. Not a difficult aircraft to fly; but to taxi was challenge because no steerable nose wheel, differential braking & differential power on the engines. After a few hours the taxing…"

"The oldest was a Lockheed 10, owned by a gentleman from Ohio. I can't remember his name, except it was German, and I'm not sure of the town. This was when I operated an FBO at Boca Raton in late 60s, early 70s. If some of you don't…"

"I've had the good fortune to own and fly two aircraft from 1928- a Heath Parasol rebuilt by my father and his friends in the 1990's, and a 1928 Travel Air 4000, which as "NAT 2" was on the 2003 National Air Tour."

"No way. Any aircraft starts as a bundle of compromises. Add to that the ever tightening requirements of the FAA, EPA, and NHTSA and it becomes an impossible burden. In 1952 I was working at IDL (now JFK) when Robert Fulton Jr. (grandson of the…"

Summer Fly-ins and Air Shows

Not to keep bringing up the sequester...but we have noticed that quite a few bigger air shows around the country have either been put on hold or canceled. Where any of these shows one that you participate in every year? Has this put a damper on your summer fly-in schedule? Or do you prefer the local pancake breakfasts? We want to hear from you with your thoughts, please submit them below.See More

Having trouble figuring out how to post/respond. This was not a back country trip...fly to Browning, MT. Blackfoot guide picked up and we fished five lakes on the Reservation. This lady came to play on the 5th day...catch and release....along with almost all of the catches. Her replica will be hung here in the office. We'll see if this one posts....I'm not feeling too positive on that!
