About
Have been an avid aviator are just a little over 30 years, I presently own my second decathlon with just a little over 2500 hours in this make and model.
Have owned three other Aircraft an I am now leaning toward disposing of my decathlon for a light sport Aircraft.
Situational scenarios should be practice on a daily basis each time you opened the throttle an start your departure roll, an continue on after you have landed by doing a post flight critiquing of the situational awareness that was part of your flight.
30 years ago I started into a new career of aerial application an continued pursuing this livelihood for five years, during this time I experienced numerous force landings from loss of power and structural failure. These incidents along with wilderness flying an landing without the benefit of a known landing strip have given me the knowledge of situational awareness when everything turns to Shit! in the blink of an eye.
I have passed a tremendous amount of force landing techniques alone to many other pilots that have had great success using these basic maneuvering techniques to improve their day to day flying skills.
Please contact me if you are interested in any of the issues that I have mentioned an I will be more than happy to pass along these techniques verbally an through practical application.
The National Transportation Safety Board accident synopsis report has broadened my perspective of the different situations that have occurred to other aviators.
Please take the time to read these post incident and accident accountings from witnesses an the NTSB investigators.
There is a tremendous amount of knowledge of how not to to ever be listed on this report.
A warning from Mr. Marion Cole many years ago has helped me survive the last 6500 Hrs of flying successfully.
"At the least expect time these little airplanes will bite you square in Ass"
Mr. Marion Cole currently lives north of Shreveport Louisiana and will be celebrating his 85th birthday December 9, 2009.
