Hopefully, within a hundred miles so can be done in one day without the overnight hassle of finding a hangar......

Sunriver, OR...hands down. It has just about everything...golf, horses, fly fishing, river rafting, bicycling, skiing in the winter at Mt. Bachelor, lots of area hiking, a nice little airport, a variety of places to eat, lots of great rental housing. Romantic yet family friendly...check it out!! Just watch out for the density altitude during the warm season...elevation is around 4150'.

I've been Blessed to have been able to fly throughout the Continental U.S., The Bahamas and the Virgin Islands, both U.S. and British but when I retired I moved to the small island of Utila in The Bay Islands of Honduras. I would say that Utila and Guanaja, another of The Bay Islands, are about as exciting as it gets. Great diving and fishing, both fly fishing and deep sea. The snorkeling is to die for for those that don't use tanks. The flying is almost always VFR and the airports are challenging without being dangerous. That's my two cents.
